How can I make my room more jungley?

My room is already painted green, and I have a turquoise bed cover with pink water lilies. I don't know if all of that fits together, but I wanted a nature theme. Any ideas?

How can I make my room more jungley?
Open your windows to let the mosquitoes in!
Reply:I have a Big Tree(about 71/2 ft) in the corner of my room, the ceiling has twinkling stars, and I have a campfire going in the center of the room with flames reaching above the wood in the middle. Is that jungley enough? I made the tree out of paper machea,on a frame of 1x2's and some chicken wire.I than wrinkled the wet paper before putting it on,so it looks like bark. The fire is a light ceramic light socket wired to a plug ,and I put drywall on the bottom for safety insulation.I than put a red light bulb into it,some aluminium foil(crinkled up) around that, and than set some small pieces of wood around with rocks on the outside(the wood hides the light socket) The ceiling has Christmas lights on it and sheer black material stapled over them.Use only the small tiny lights,if your going to do that.I used blinking ones. Get creative! You can come up with all kinds of ideas that don't cost a lot of money! Bye
Reply:Have an artist come in and pant animals on the walls. You can get some stuffed animals from the store and add them as throw around your room. They have these mini waterfall fountain things at Linens N Things, etc- you can add that. Also, add some plants to your room. Hope this helps!
Reply:Buy shadow boxes and use real leaves and sticks from outside to fill them then hang them on the wall.
Reply:Find some potted plants for a really authentic feel. Or if you're a black thumb like me, go for the fake ones.

If that's out of the question, paint the walls with a sponge different shades of green (some lighter, some darker, some more blue, some more green). A nice patchy texture will feel more leafy.

Next, maybe try picking up a few cheap pieces of furniture from thrift stores or craigslist (www.craigslist.com). Look for things that are woven or made of bamboo.

Good luck.

Reply:Find a jungle mural for one wall and decorate around it. You can also create a mural by renting a projection screen and projecting a pattern you like onto the wall, and then painting it. Only if you are artistically inclined of course but if not you can be more simplistic and still get a jungle feel. Maybe you have an artistic friend who could help you with this. Stencils can work well if you are patient and detail oriented. Otherwise, invest in a mosquito net feature for over your bed, choose some good nature colors and invest in accessories that give an Ernest Hemingway kind of feel for the room. Choose fabrics that are animal prints but in the same family....in other words, pick one print. And look for animal sculptures that would accent your room. Not stuffed!!!
Reply:go to a craft store and purchase some of these fake plastic vines and leaves and put them on the walls and the ceiling and such.
Reply:1] invest in stuffed, or framed pictures of, your favorite jungle animals - lion, elephant, giraffe, etc.Be sure to get the correct animals for 'your' continent [ ex: tigers only in India, Russia;

elephants only in Africa, Asia; etc

2] put little stuffed monkeys, birds, other tree creatures in

tree tops or tpo of tall furniture

3] use plastic 'jungle' vines to drape around tops of furniture

4] add African [ South American, Asian, Hawaiian ] tribal masks

5] install tropical ceiling fan

6] add tiki bar or other tropical lamps

7] make a tape of jungle songs to play continuously when you have friends over

8] bamboo mat or tiger skin rug
