Mosquito larvae in my pond!?

i have mosquito larvae in my pond. Its about the size of 2 bath tubs, today i found some mosquito larvae!!

how can i kill all the larvae? i have koi and small goldfish, also a lily water plant. I have a fresh water pond with a KH of 2

what should i do to kill the mosquitos, but not my fish and plants?

Mosquito larvae in my pond!?
The Goldfish and Koi should be more than happy to eat the larvae... If they have trouble finding it, try scooping it out with a net and tossing it into the center so they see the ripples. Don't feed this to them too often or you'll likely begin to see constipation.
Reply:I can't understand why there would be surviving mosquito larvae in a pond with fishes in it. Fish like to eat mosquito larvae and will certainly eat ALL the larvae they can find.

You must have only a few fish (maybe 2 or only 3) so they cannot consume all of the larvae. The mosquitoes are reproducing much faster than your fishes can consume them.

To kill the larvae, use your fishes' appetite. Get some MORE fishes in your pond to eat the larvae. Or you can net the larvae out to thin their numbers.
Reply:A neighbor of mine was able to get some fish (he called them mosquito eaters) for free from the department of public health ( i think that's where he got them). They look clear so your koi will still remain the focus of your pond and they seem to be really hardy since they have survived a number of years. I live in CA so I don't know what program your state has to keep mosquitos in check but I know that most of them do have something that can help you out.
Reply:This happened once to me. It was a large above-the-ground swimming pool. The kids left the cover off and before you know it I had thousands of mosquito larvae swimming around.

So what I did was to purchase a butterfly-type net and simply scooped all the little critters out of the pool.

Then I took them to the garage and washed them down the laundry sink with really hot water.

Mission accomplished!
Reply:Feed your fish a bit less and give them a good talking to. They are slacking on the job, they should be spending their time hunting those mossies wrigglers instead of lazing about waiting for you to feed them.

Let them go a couple of days without food, you wont have any mossie larvae then.

Reply:get some frogs, check pet shop for fish that will survive the summer out and can eat larvae, maybe some non harmful chemical that larvae can not tolerate? good luck
Reply:I catch mosquito larvae for my goldfish. They love them. I'd cut back on the food you give your fish and let them clean them up.
