Triggering Muskies in the pads...what to do!?

I will be fishing an area that I know holds several muskies in 2-5ft of water with very thick lily pads present. I have never fished anything weedless for muskies and I am looking for ideas. I know a little about rigging weedless for Bass so is it simply a matter of upsizing my presentation? I am going to try a large weedless frog and maybe a weedless spoon with a trailer. Any other ideas? I do appreciate any detailed techniques that you come up with.

I've caught several muskie unintentionally while bass fishing in heavy vegetation. Several did indeed hit on a weedless frog. I've also had some hit on a Texas rig worm or lizard with the sinker pegged. A couple also hit a large (1/2 oz. or bigger) buzz bait around the edge of vegetation. You might even try using large minnows on a balloon rig. Good luck!
Reply:Try texas rigging a big plastic worm (lightest weight you can cast with) and drag it through the pads. I would go 10" or longer worm. I hope this helps.
Reply:Jerk baits are the best . My favorite is Mister Twister Sassy Shad
