Write how hydrophytes, mesophytes and xerophytes are adapted to the environment?

plants are adapted to environment for surviving or less they won't survive. so, how hydrophytes, mesophytes, xerophytes are adapted to environment. In hydrophytes write about lotus, water lilies and hydrilla. In mesophytes write about banyan tree, neem tree and mango tree. In xerophytes write about cactus, ber

Write how hydrophytes, mesophytes and xerophytes are adapted to the environment?
Hydrophytes, as thriving in the extreme environmental conditions they need to have an extensive root system to get adequate water for survival.Secondly, they have leaves modified into thorns so as to prevent water by tranpiration.the stems are modified into leaves and are covered by cuticle so as to prevent loss of water by dessication.Mesophytes have a well developed root and shoot system so as to get an adequate development. Moreover living in a moderate environment without any lack of resources doesn't cause much adaptation in them.Hydrophytes have to survive in an environment where there is exess of water therefore they have wel aerated and hollow stems, presence of aerenchyma so as to keep the plant afloat. They also have poorly developed root system. The surfaces have cuticle cover on the undersurface .The rate of transpiration is also very high.
Reply:hydrophytes

they r adapted to d water life.

they hav aerenchymatic cells dat help in floating.

d roots r short coz they r always in water so ders no need in going seacrh of it.

thers a particular angle of deviation of leaves exposed to sunlight for photosynthesis.

ex: Azolla

xerophytes

they hav thorns which check for d rate of transpiration of water from d plant body.

leaves r modifies into thorns coz leaves allow water transpiration.

roots are long coz dey penetrate deep in search of water

d stemmed part os these plants r fleshy n greenary.

ex: cactus

mesophytes

these plants r found to grow n r adapted to survive in most of the conditions....there r variable forms of modifications...depending on d region they grow.

ex:Coconut tree or any other
Reply:HI FRIEND! the answer to this question is in NCERT BIOLOGY TEXTBOOK. IT IS REALLY A EXCELLENT BOOK .U SHOULD REFER IT FOR ALL CHAPTERS AND DONOT MISS A SINGLE WORD OF THIS BOOK FOR PMT ALSO.!!
