Betta fish with extra energy??

I got a betta fish 2 weeks ago. I put him in a container with a peace lily in the water. Everytime someone goes near the bowl, he goes crazy. He starts swimming around in circles as if he's doing tricks to get food!

Is this normal for a male betta? I just think it's kind of strange but entertaining to watch.

Betta's (the ones that I have owned and spawned) have always done this once they get used to the person who feeds them. It is normal but I would like to point out that you might have a problem in the future with your Betta's set up. A Peace Lily is pretty but it does nothing for the Betta. It will most likely grow and take up too much space and the Betta will not be able to get enough air it needs. Betta's will not eat the roots. Betta's are also tropical fish and need to be in a heated filtered tank. Bowls are no place for any fish.
Reply:It is normal but he also might be scared of people or there might be something wrong with the bowl.
