Can someone tell me how to change a peace lily from a planter of soil and put into a vase of water ?

You could cut the flower when it comes in bloom, and treat it as a cut flower in a vase.

If you transfer the whole plant from soil to water - you will kill it. Peace lillies like thier soil to dry a bit between waterings. If the roots are submerged in water all the time, it will die.

just wash the roots out real well and put it in a large vase with plenty of sun, I have done this with betta fish for other people, the betta do well and so does the plant, I have had them get more than one flower at a time in the vase, if you want to move the lilly back to dirt at some time you need to keep it well watered until it becomes acclimated with being back in soil, I just did this recently, a small aquarium was a Christmas gift so the fish went into that and the peace lilly went into soil, they are both doing well.
Reply:Peace Lilies (spathaphilium) are not cut flowers. Are you talking about how to put the plant in a tall vase with a Beta fish in the vase? If so, the first thing you have to do is wash all the dirt off the roots. Once the roots have a white look, then you can place the plant into the special part of the vase that is made just for the plant. The fish will live off the roots. Look at WalMart for the vases that are made just for this purpose. Some other floral supply places may have them, too.
