Francis Bacon

Figure in a Landscape 1945

This painting is called Figure in a landscape and it was painted by Francis Bacon at Hyde Park in 1945 using oil on canvas. From what I can see from the actual painting, I see that the objects in the painting are painted with a lot of thick paints and I can see there are many mark making skill involved in this artwork. Also, we can see in the painting there are many highly visible brush strokes, this suggests the artist was trying to make the painting more extruded on the background. This makes the painting looks rush at first, but after I have carefully studied the painting I found out that the painter was trying to trap more interest of a person and to encourage the people to think about what is actually happening in the painting. When we looked at the painting carefully, we can see that there are two horses and one of it was standing behind the gate. Behind the horse, we can clearly see there is a tunnel, which I think it’s very interesting because this makes me want to explore more about what is actually behind the tunnel. Overall, the painting includes many line drawings, which are on the top of different objects, making it looks as if the painter was painting about dreams.

Chaim Soutine

Landscape at Cerect circa 1920

This painting is called landscape at cerect ciraca and the painted used oil on canvas to express the storms. Landscape at Cerect circa was painted by the artist named chaim Soutine at north-west of Paris in 1920. Soutine painted the painting very aggressively with s lots of very thicken paint with depth of roughly about 5 cm, also the highly visible brush strokes are very much extruded on the surface of the canvas expressing the power it has in a storm. The painting was painted using lots of different green and the artist has painted it in different layers and also frenetic quality of the painting suggests the artist was describing about the strength of the storms.

Claude Monet

Water-lilies

Nympheas 1916

The painting is called Nympheas and it was painted using oil on canvas describing about the nature observation. This is painted by the artist named Claude Monet at his home at the north-west of Paris in 1916. Monet separated the painting into different layers by gradually building up the paint on the surface of the canvas. Monet applied the paint in different directions with different texture suggesting he’s trying to make some objects more extruded on the canvas. Also, the painting looks as if it was painted by the time of the sun-set because Monet used mainly cold colors on his artwork to express his observation of its nature.

I've tried not to alter the content too much, just the language. I hope this is of some help:

Nympheas 1916

The painting is called Nympheas and it was painted using oil on canvas as an exercise in the observation of nature. This was painted by Claude Monet at his home in the north-west of Paris in 1916. Monet created layers by gradually building up the paint on the canvas creating a three dimensional effect. Monet applied the paint in different directions with different texture suggesting he was trying to make some objects more extruded on the canvas. The use of cold colours and tones suggests it was painted around sunset.
