How do I clear the water in my garden pond?

I recently put a lily pad and some hornwort in my garden pond and the water started to get cloudy. I didn't know if it was because of that or the wheather. It recently reached the upper 80's also. Any ideas so that I can see my fish again?

How do I clear the water in my garden pond?
do you have a water pump???? if so .. change or rinse out the out the filter cartridge... if not then you might need to get one.... they come by how big your pond is.. and they are good for the fish.. it gives the water air and keeps that water moving so it doesn't get stagnant and reduces the chance of algae to grow... you might also ant to look into getting a placacosmes fish ( the suck fish) the eat all the algae off of sides of pond liner and keep the water a little clearer.. good luck!
Reply:Filtration.
Reply:If it's from the plants, it's silt, and will settle. If it's algae from the sun, just add more surface plants to shade the water. There is no need for a filter. Wind will cloud a pond because of the dirt it carries. That, too, will settle.
Reply:clean the filtre daily until the problem is solved. if that doesn't work change the filtre,( maybe more than once )..
